we love: midsummer night’s dream wedding

What about a wedding isn’t dreamlike? It’s beautiful, magical, dizzying, a little crazy, then it’s over just like that.

And we’re really loving Midsummer Night’s Dream for a wedding theme.

The play has a wedding, fairies, the Queen of the Amazons and an enchanted forest. So much visual inspiration!

Here’s It Girl Jemima Kirke, talking about her bohemeian wedding style. And here’s a great Midsummer Nights mood board with her in it.

We found this board of otherworldly inspiration on Pinterest.

The Swedish Stuga where this whimsical wedding took place was inspired by A Midsummer Nights Dream. Check out the dreamy, surreal photography.

Here’s a great Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding dress. This one’s pretty great, too.

We love this delicate headpiece. It’s très fairy-chic, no?

Check out Anita Louise, the original Fairy Queen Titania from the 1935 Midsummer Night’s Dream movie.

And what ring could be ethereal enough for the Midsummer Night’s Dream bride? We think it’s Leah, but we’d love to hear your ideas!

We Love: Summer Cocktails & A Fiesta Themed Wedding

This weekend, we’re trying new things. You have to, to keep things fresh and spicy. What’s on your list of fun experiments and experiences?

We really need to try cronuts.

But instead of waiting in line for them, we’ll probably just make these (surprisingly grown up and elegant!) mojito jello shots instead.

Not into it? Okay, here are some really, truly elegant summer cocktails. Worth a try, right?

To go with them? This salad looks incredible. And these lemon bars are so summery, we want to eat them on a hammock.

We want these tea glasses by Calypso St. Barthe! So pretty on a picnic, right?

We’re definitely trying at least one of these aromatherapy blends. We’re just not confessing which one!

And lastly, we love this vintage fiesta-themed wedding! Kids, babies, green shoes, flowing hair, an incredible bouquet, a groom wearing pink… we don’t know where to look! It’s all so good.

Let’s be inspired to try something extra-colorful this weekend!

We Love: Father’s Day Gifts

“Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.” – Bill Cosby

We say it’s more than that! Father’s Day is a chance to say thanks to your dear dad, with a present that makes him feel cool and loved and appreciated, all at the same time.

Here are some Father’s Day gift ideas we really like.

We couldn’t resist. It actually looks pretty cool, right?

For the naturalist dad with an appreciation for retro style, there’s this path-finding book from 1931.

For the surf-loving dad, these T shirts by M. Carter are the perfect way to kick off the summer.

For the dapper dad, these hand-dyed linen ties make the traditional tie-gift so NOT lame. These chambray ties are awesome, too.

Wouldn’t your dad love if you showed an interest in his record collection? This portable record player’s an excellent start. No, you can’t steal it back after a while!

Socks?! Yes! Trust us. If you get Dad some memorable socks, he will smile every time he wears them. These are great. As are these.

And if you’re picking something out to show your husband what a special dad HE is, you can always replace a boring wedding band with this. Maybe it’ll even inspire him next Mother’s Day!

Trend We Love: Black Wedding Dresses & Details

It’s no surprise that so many luxury brands use the color black. It evokes sleek good taste and sophistication, and it goes with everything. It’s black tie and the little black dress.

We love basic black because it makes our diamonds really pop!

Remember when Mr. Big bought Carrie Bradshaw a black diamond engagement ring? It sent the message that he truly “got” her like no other man could.

Courtney from Brooklyn Bride put it this way, “If you’re looking for color scheme that’s truly effortless, black and white really is the simplest and most direct route to a chic and sophisticated event.”

Simple, chic and sophisticated is exactly what we love, so here’s our list of Black & White inspiration!

When we blogged about colored wedding dresses, we didn’t see this coming! Here’s Shenae Grimes in her daring black wedding dress.

And Brooklyn Bride’s perfect black and white mood boards.

We’re dying for these black and gold details!
