We Love: Channel Set Rings & Happy Brides

We love reading Jeff Cooper love stories on message boards.

Check out our slideshow up top! A lucky bride in Philadelphia shared some playful pictures of her princess cut Emma Engagement Ring, and we love the story that goes with them!

The engagement was a surprise but we did discuss preferences. I told him I always loved Jeff Cooper but didn’t need his setting necessarily – just something to be inspired by. Lucky me, he decided to stick with what I love!”

Her fiancé also had a great experience with our Authorized Retailer, A.R. Morris Jewelers in Wilmington, Delaware.

“He really felt like they listened, were patient, and went above and beyond in their customer service.”

We’re so thrilled to hear about another happy Jeff Cooper bride! Do you have a story to share? Tell us in the comments.

Olivia Wilde & Jason Sudeikis Engaged

We’re so happy for our favorite SNL actor Jason Sudeikis, and the gorgeous actress Olivia Wilde!

We got a sneak peek at Olivia’s antique engagement ring, when she was photographed on set in Rome. Look at her little Mona Lisa smile! Pictures are a little blurry, but it looks like a massive, round diamond in an antique setting.

Congratulations, you two!

We Love: Vintage-Inspired Wedding Headpieces

This story from 100 Layer Cake made us think about our obsession with perfection. It’s a great thing when we’re making your Jeff Cooper rings, but the rest of the time? It’s great to take chances and enjoy the happy accidents life brings us.

Like rain on your wedding day. It’s supposed to be a problem, but for Kory, it was the highlight of her wedding day.

Towards the end of our first dance, an incredible lightning storm started appearing all around us, the rain-less type of insane lightning you only see out in big sky country. A little bit after, it rained for about ten minutes, and then it HAILED for another ten minutes (nickel-sized soft hail, wow). It was absolutely beautiful and amazing. We moved the dance party inside the big garage, and watched the storm. After about twenty minutes the freak storm passed and we all came back outside and continued the dance party in the puddles. It was amazing. Dancing in the puddles with everyone I love has to be my favorite memory from the day.

Just a reminder to ourselves, and all the other perfectionists out there, to be open to wonder wherever you find it. What does perfectly imperfect mean to you? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Enjoy these little surprises from around the web, and have a beautiful weekend!

We know this playful, imaginative “country” home is in Brooklyn, but we still can’t believe it. Via Vogue, via Haute Design.

This is interesting. Little Borrowed Dress lets you rent bridesmaids dresses.

And Lovely Bride did such a pretty piece on Agnes Hart’s Etsy store. Gorgeous, vintage-inspired, handmade headpieces, hats and veils.

Want to know what 13 people wore to be interviewed by Anna Wintour? It’s fascinating, actually.

Sounds like Anna Wintour hates vintage, but this blouse from Anthropologie is so good. Downton Abbey style!

And a recipe for a single serving of chocolate chip cookies. We can’t decide if this is silly or brilliant. Maybe both.

Like us on Facebook, we’re giving away a diamond pendant!

Wedding Photographers Davina + Daniel

Maybe it’s because they travel the world, and the people and celebrations in their pictures are so vibrant and diverse. Maybe it’s their ability to spot the most dramatic and special composition. We’re so used to seeing really trendy wedding photography with that sun-bleached, vintage look. But this slideshow from wedding photographers Davina + Daniel is so dramatic and unique, it really stands out. We’re in love, and apparently we’re not the only ones. Rangefinder Magazine ranked them in the Top 10 most sought-after wedding photographers of 2012!

We Love: Inspired Valentine’s Day Gifts

We still have a couple of weeks to order up a Valentine’s Day to remember. Here are some creative and heartfelt alternatives to flowers and candy!

FOR HER

1. Let’s be honest, a Jeff Cooper ring is the ultimate way to say “be mine.” Shown above, a custom Tara Engagement Ring with an “old euro” cut diamond. It totally works as a non-engagement ring, too!

2. We can’t imagine the woman who wouldn’t love this Chanel nail polish collection.

3. We can’t stop imagining these Anthropologie jeans with a simple top and Jackie O glasses on a chic European honeymoon.

FOR HIM

1. Nothing says love like monogrammed barware.

2. And love demands courage, right? This pocket knife is just so cool.

3. Lobsters mate for life, don’t they? He’ll actually want to wear this T shirt by M. Carter.

FOR GIRLS

1. Skip the candy heart this year. This heart pendant is so pretty and so appropriate for a little girl.

2. These girls’ heart tights are pretty darn adorable, too.

3. We wish they made these for women! Chic ballet flats for girls. Festooned with hearts!

FOR BOYS

1. How to give a boy a Valentine heart? Problem solved!

2. With a design this cool, you can get away with buying a boy a Valentine’s Day T-shirt.

3. A necktie with candy hearts, skinny enough to look hip. He can wear it ironically, right?

Have fun surprising your loved ones, everybody!

We Love: Flower Girl Dresses & Signature Cocktails

Brrr, it’s cold out there! Great weekend to curl up with a good read, a great cake and a spectacular cocktail. Check out our list of all that and more. See you Monday!

If you don’t have a fireplace to cozy up to, this little luxury is totally justified.

How incredible would this Chanel nail polish collection look with your Jeff Cooper rings? We can’t imagine a more perfect wardrobe of nail colors.

A gluten free cake we really want to eat! Made with kabocha squash, too, so it’s healthy. From the prettiest food blog, The Yellow House.

We love this cocktail for a winter wedding. Or for brunch tomorrow.

This is so over the top, we love it. Check out this Alice in Wonderland Wedding on Green Wedding Shoes. The ceiling of the cathedral, the bride’s bustle, and the colors at the end are bananas!

David Cooper & Cycle for Survival

We’re proud to announce that there’s a front page feature in the Centurion newsletter about the ambitious and heartfelt charity work of our president David Cooper!

It’s great for our jewelry industry colleagues to discover what we’ve known all along: David has been a tireless supporter of the fight against cancer for years, raising over $35,000 so far, and inspiring others to get involved.

As a Cycle for Survival leader, David will engage 100 cyclists in a fundraiser that gives 100% to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centers. The money funds research and treatments for rare cancers, and most cancers that effect children.

“It’s a massive event, tremendously powerful and emotional,” he told The Centurion.

The event is February 2, so David will hop off his bike and onto a plane for Centurion the same day. Click here to learn more about Cycle For Survival, and here for David Cooper’s personal page where you can read about the charity, donate, or sign up to ride.

We Love: Wedding Makeup & Mixology

“I don’t know what luxury is anymore. A good peach is luxury.”

That’s J Crew CEO Mickey Drexler speaking at WWD’s CEO Summit last week. We took this quote to heart because we totally agree: luxury is incredibly subjective.

What is luxury? Kind of a great dinner party topic, right? Some of us crave the luxury of more time above all. Others work hard to attain luxurious things.

Is beauty a luxury? If so, then that’s the one luxury we don’t want to live without. Refined, simple beauty from expected and unexpected sources is our joy.

If you have the luxury of a little free time this weekend, enjoy this week’s fun links from around the web.

Try this next time you see some gorgeous reflections. Jessica Backhaus’s vibrant photographs of Venetian canals.

Bridal beauty! Perfect bridal makeup for a fresh, natural look.

Simple, elegant, a little beachy. We love this minimalist wedding cake.

For the home mixologist, these interesting  additions take your cocktails to the next level.

Need a winter pick-me-up? Colorful watches by Marc Jacobs. They’re like vitamin C in watch form.

Thinking ahead? Here’s a local Valentine’s Day present for the foodies! Made in Brooklyn by the Sweet Fine Day family.

Jeff Cooper Rings & Unique Wedding Ideas

When we discover an amazing couple like Jay and Courtney, we’re so moved. Courtney created a wedding website to document everything about their wedding online. Everything! We love that they made every aspect of the celebration their own. They had Catholic and Hindu ceremonies to honor the bride and groom’s families, and even involved some professional football. Henna bridal tattoos and pro football. There’s really nothing like it.

Courtney, on her Eden Engagement Ring:
“The ring! Believe it or not, I saw this ring 3 years before (2 years before I even met Jay) in a magazine when my college roommate was planning her wedding. At that time I said it was my dream ring, and I’ve always thought of it when I pictured my “perfect ring.” Jay did not want me involved in picking a ring in any way, and I didn’t even know he had begun shopping. He completely surprised me (and I think himself) when I realized it was the Jeff Cooper ring of my dreams!”

We’re so honored to share in your happiness, Courtney & Jay!
