We love: Pét-Nat & cool typography

This week it’s all about the novel, the new, the unexpected. We want to see something (and show you something) we’ve never seen before.

So here’s to a weekend filled with adventure and exploration!

Thinking of decorating with typography? Check this out.

Thinking of finding your signature scent? Go here.

Thinking of letting your inner child come out and play? Here’s how to do it fashionably.

Thinking of blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors? Check out these fantasy bathrooms! So dreamy.

Have you had Pét-Nat? It’s French, a bit like Champagne, and as lovers all all things bubbly we need to try it ASAP!

There’s a nice interactive feature in the NY Times on summer drinks. The gin and tonic with grapefruit looks especially refreshing.

Do you always rely on a recipe when cooking? Here’s a self-help cookbook to help you break free.

This is cool. Wouldn’t you love to try it with a family member?

What have you discovered lately?

Engagement Ring Trend: Mixed Metal Wedding Rings

White gold and platinum settings will always be popular, but we’re seeing adventurous brides (and grooms) gravitating toward mixed metals for a cool, personalized look.

It’s not just edgy fashionistas and bohemians! In the tradition of classic beauty Audrey Hepburn and her stack of mix and match wedding bands, modern brides are mixing metals, and it looks totally chic.

Keira Knightley surprised everyone with her wedding outfit, then surprised us again, by combining an understated two-carat solitaire diamond in a platinum setting with a simple yellow gold wedding band.

Kate Middleton also dared to mix metals. As the world knows, Prince William proposed with Princess Diana’s blue sapphire ring set on a platinum band. Her wedding ring is a simple yellow gold band fashioned from a nugget of Welsh gold, a royal tradition.

Some brides feel that mixed metal wedding sets free up more options for mixing metals in all your jewelry and accessories, but most brides stick with (and love) a matched set.

This year we designed some of our wedding sets with rose gold accents for a mixed metal look within a perfectly matched set. The featured image above is the Larissa Rose Set, from our Laurel Collection.

What say you? Love it or leave it?

Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez Married

Gorgeous international couple Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were married at Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France in a rather intimate gathering of family and friends. We wrote about Halle’s extraordinary and bold yellow gold and emerald engagement ring here. But of course this is our vision for a ring befitting her beauty and elegance.

The bride and groom exchanged vows in a civil ceremony performed by a local mayor, followed by a religious ceremony. The chateau venue is, shall we say, epic. Check it out here.

Martinez’s brother Vincent and mother Rosemarie were among the 60 guests who celebrated the union with dinner, dancing and fireworks.

The couple is expecting a son later this year.

We wish them all the best in their life together!

Arthur Miller, Montauk Style & the best margarita

It’s well and truly summer, and in New York, we’re experiencing quite the heatwave. This week, we’re keeping it as light, cool and refreshing as a mojito on a yacht.

Hot enough for you? This beautiful essay from The New Yorker’s archives is worth a read. Written by Arthur Miller, it’s about summer in the city before air conditioning.

Speaking of New Yorkers, have you been to Humans of New York yet? You’ll be glad you did.

Cool off with Fashionista’s 10 Favorite Face Mists and 15 Floaty Dresses.

How cool are these English Countryside tours by horse?

We love Lonny’s “Pack your Bags” feature, and this one for Montauk is brilliantly chic.

What a soothing, yet sophisticated nursery. We love the grey-green paint color.

We want these iPhone cases. So much fun.

The best margarita you’ll ever have. Extra ice, please!

And lastly, a little gossip. You know we love jewelry gossip.

So, Kanye West reportedly gave Kim Kardashian a $770,000 tiger stripe diamond ring for a push present. Would that look like this? We’re having a hard time picturing it.

You don’t know about push presents yet? We’d actually rather see Miss K. in one of these.

Jimmy Kimmel Married Molly McNearny

Jimmy Kimmel married Molly McNearny in a star-studded wedding on Saturday at the Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, California.

How cool is this guest list? Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Matt Damon, Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi, Howard Stern, Kelly Ripa, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and Stanley Tucci.

The wedding was planned by prominent wedding planner Mindy Weiss. Have you ever been to her website? It’s fun.

The bride looked amazing with loose waves in her hair and a strapless lace wedding dress. Is Pre-Raphaelite hair back for weddings making a comeback? It looks so lovely the way Ms. McNearny wore it.

And we couldn’t help but notice that Jimmy looked pretty dapper as well.

Best wishes to the happy and stylish couple!

Kirsten Kuehn & Sparkle Brighter

“You mustn’t be afraid to sparkle a little brighter, darling.” ― Kirsten Kuehn

Can one Pinterest board change your style from streamlined to sumptuous? Maybe not, but your wedding is no time to play the wallflower, and neither is your life!

Here at Jeff Cooper, we believe that a magical work of art set with a fabulous diamond (or a lot of them) is the perfect accessory for every woman, every day.

And when we discovered the above quote by Pinterest diva and accessories designer Kirsten Kuehn, we got very inspired.

“Sparkle brighter” doesn’t have to mean Dynasty-era excess. But we are finding a lot to love in the glittery end of the style spectrum.

So without further ado, here’s the outrageously sparkly Pinterest board we’re loving by Ms. Kuehn. So much eye candy, nothing held back.

So, what do you say? Are you in the mood to sparkle brighter? We love sparkly reception dresses, too.

Manhattanhenge & Sleeping Porches

“Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.” ― Pablo Picasso

This week we collected a list of inspiring links. Here’s to drinking in all the beauty and emotion life has to offer. Salut!

This is inspiring. 19 successful people who struggled in their 20s.

And here are 30 photos that capture the best moments in a person’s life. So beautiful.

It’s time for Manhattanhenge! Twice a year, the sunset lines up with the east-west grid of New York City, and the golden rays shoot down the streets. It’s happening today and Saturday at about 8:20pm.

Great idea for a country house. Sleeping porches.

This Bohemian Summer Wedding inspiration is really beautiful. We love the unexpected cool color palette. And here’s another wedding with cool hues and a moody, cloudy feel.

These jadeite tumblers have that minty absinthe-colored cool, too. We’ d love to see them with little tabletop posy arrangements.

You know we love black. We haven’t tried it, but we think it looks so chic and sophisticated on walls.

We’re inspired to make everyday things totally healthy and delicious. These kale chips are supposed to be the best.

And since nothing is more inspiring than beauty and great design, here’s an amazing Lanvin wedding dress. And here’s another perfect Lanvin.

Let’s have an incredible weekend!

Elisha Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf Married

It’s a Canadian royal wedding!

Actress Elisha Cuthbert married Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf on Saturday at St. James Catholic Church on Prince Edward Island.

A reception followed at Phaneuf’s waterfront home. Here are pictures of the couple and the venue. Pretty romantic, don’t you agree?

The bride wore a long-sleeved lace wedding dress and arrived at the church in a vintage black Camaro, a wedding gift for her groom. The bridesmaids wore pale pink.

Elisha has such a classic, feminine, fairy tale wedding style, we’d love to see her in something from our Ever Collection. Maybe the Eden & Ellery Set. Dion is a hockey player, so we’d pick the ruggedly handsome Emmet Wedding Band for him.

Cutbert and Phaneuf having been dating since 2008, and have been engaged since 2012.

Congrats to the happy couple!

We Love: Chanel Wedding Style

Remember when Keira Knightly recycled her little blush pink Chanel ballerina dress for her wedding?

And a pregnant and radiant Drew Barrymore wore Chanel for an entirely different, still beautiful effect.

And our featured image, supermodel bride Kristen McMenamy at her wedding with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and fellow model Naomi Campbell, via this lovely link to Vogue Weddings.

Since then, we’ve been pretty enticed by the allure of Chanel-inspired touches for weddings.

Read and adore this slideshow on the 50 chicest French women of all time. This is from Coco Chanel’s entry:

“The first couturière as famous as her clients, Coco Chanel was an iconoclast that redefined the modern woman. Challenging class barriers and staid notions of good taste, Chanel took inspiration from menswear and worked with new materials, incorporating pockets, tweeds, and jersey into her lexicon of soft suits and easy sheaths. If you’ve ever worn a little black dress, designer fragrance, or costume jewelry — and you have — you’ve got Mademoiselle to thank.”

And another amazing slideshow. This one’s all Chanel.

Thank you, Mlle. Chanel!

Here’s a crazy-cool vintage Chanel costume jewelry necklace. Would it be exquisite against a simple wedding dress? Perhaps something Great Gatsby- inspired?

This beautiful inspiration shoot is Chanel-inspired. We’re loving all the black. It looks so chic and sophisticated.

So how much do you love Chanel wedding style?

US Hikes, Cupcake Sparklers & A Deployment Return

This Independence Day long weekend, we’re feeling emotions like Mariah Carey.

The 4th of July always gets us thinking about our homeland, and brings up all sorts of feelingssentimental, celebratory, and sometimes they run deep.

We proudly make all our rings here in America. Sure, we could do it cheaper, but we couldn’t do it better or more ethically.

Here’s how you do stars & stripes. Marc Jacobs stars. And here we have stripes, courtesy of Real Simple. Oh, and here’s how you do Fireworks.

Take a walk. From Apartment Therapy, some resources for U.S. hikes you can take.

We now declare cupcake sparklers mandatory for all parties, great or small.

We’ve mentioned Moment Junkie before, but they did it again. Our featured image above is this Deployment Return, aka your instant cry of the day.

The bride’s brother was deployed and surprised her by returning for her wedding.
