Sharing The Love

Each Jeff Cooper piece is made one at a time, by hand, and examined through every step of the process because we realize that every ring should be reflective of its wearer and the memories it symbolizes.

Each ring that carries the Jeff Cooper brand name exhibits refined simplicity, a concept that is now ingrained in the brand heritage and in the company’s meticulous workmanship.

That being said, we value our customers as they truly mean the world to us. In fact, nothing makes us smile more than when we hear from satisfied customers sharing their happiness about our rings.

Recently, we heard from a Jeff Cooper customer that really made our day. We received a delightful Facebook post from one of our customers, Dru, who said the following: “Loving my Hope engagement ring with my newly added (Saturday) Harper wedding band!!! Thanks, Jeff Cooper for the custom work!!”

This inspired a Facebook post to encourage other Jeff Cooper customers to share the love and we wanted to show you a few of our favorites here in this blog post.

Kendra said, “Love my Jeff Cooper!”

Elyse shared her beautiful set with us, too.

Your love doesn’t need embellishments. Jeff Cooper rings are as pure and honest as the way you feel. This is your moment and we’re honored to be a part of the magic.

Thanks again for sharing the love.

Are you covered?

We had just returned from an enjoyable boat ride on the lake. My friend and I headed up to the house to start making lunch. As we were awaiting her husband to join us, we noticed he was looking for something down by the water. He looked frantic and we kept calling him to come inside. Finally, he reveals the reason for his delay. He was looking for her engagement ring that had fallen somewhere, but where…the boat or even worse the water!

Earlier, she had taken off her ring so she wouldn’t lose it in the water and put her ring in an empty cigarette box, which was safely placed in the glove compartment of the boat. And we thought we were being careful…

When her husband grabbed the box, the lid wasn’t shut completely and there goes her ring. Slips right out and it’s gone just like that. That sick feeling in the pit of your stomach is suddenly present. You’re thinking this isn’t real, this can’t be possible! It’s one of those moments you think will never happen to you, but it just did.

The worst part…the ring wasn’t insured.

We all jumped up and started to process the reality of the situation at hand. Now, we’re all frantically looking for this precious family heirloom diamond engagement ring that is NOT insured.

If the ring had fallen into the water, the chances are so slim that we would recover it. This would definitely ruin the rest of the trip if we lost the ring. Not only is the ring irreplaceable, but it would be very expensive to replace.

But wait…like a shimmering beacon of hope that lights up a dark tunnel, there sat a shining diamond ring upon the cement block under the dock. Instead of falling straight into the lake, the ring was saved by the base of the dock. Luck has never been more on our side and relief never felt so good. We can all laugh about the story now, but at the time it was a panicking and nauseating situation.

Even if your ring is lost for good, it’s never truly replaceable. However, knowing your ring is insured, you can at least take comfort that your insurance can help replace your ring.

I often have moments where I took my ring off somewhere and can’t find it for a few minutes. Those few minutes are terrifying, but at least my rings are insured.

You can never predict the future and unfortunate events can happen so it’s best to make sure that you insure your engagement and wedding rings.

Contact your insurance agent and find out what is the best policy for you. Protect your precious investment as you might not be as lucky as us.

Ask Jeff Cooper: Pavé Diamonds

What’s trendy in wedding ring fashion right now? We blogged our predictions for the year here, but our friends over at The Knot posted an article where they picked 4 top trends in wedding rings, and they’re all trends we design for! Can you guess what they are?

Trend #1 is Pavé Diamonds! The Knot had this to say:

In the elegant pavé setting, tiny, faceted, fully cut stones are set as close together as possible so you can’t see the metal around them (see picture above). Think of it as if the metal band has been paved with diamonds. The pavé look offers bling without being outlandish. We’re seeing pavé in metals from yellow gold to platinum.

And here are a few favorites from our dazzling, but refined Tandem Collection.

Do you love it, or do you love it? We think pavé diamonds are so chic and glamorous.

So, what do you think the other three ring trends will be? Stay tuned!

Engagement Ring Trend: Mixed Metal Wedding Rings

White gold and platinum settings will always be popular, but we’re seeing adventurous brides (and grooms) gravitating toward mixed metals for a cool, personalized look.

It’s not just edgy fashionistas and bohemians! In the tradition of classic beauty Audrey Hepburn and her stack of mix and match wedding bands, modern brides are mixing metals, and it looks totally chic.

Keira Knightley surprised everyone with her wedding outfit, then surprised us again, by combining an understated two-carat solitaire diamond in a platinum setting with a simple yellow gold wedding band.

Kate Middleton also dared to mix metals. As the world knows, Prince William proposed with Princess Diana’s blue sapphire ring set on a platinum band. Her wedding ring is a simple yellow gold band fashioned from a nugget of Welsh gold, a royal tradition.

Some brides feel that mixed metal wedding sets free up more options for mixing metals in all your jewelry and accessories, but most brides stick with (and love) a matched set.

This year we designed some of our wedding sets with rose gold accents for a mixed metal look within a perfectly matched set. The featured image above is the Larissa Rose Set, from our Laurel Collection.

What say you? Love it or leave it?

Kirsten Kuehn & Sparkle Brighter

“You mustn’t be afraid to sparkle a little brighter, darling.” ― Kirsten Kuehn

Can one Pinterest board change your style from streamlined to sumptuous? Maybe not, but your wedding is no time to play the wallflower, and neither is your life!

Here at Jeff Cooper, we believe that a magical work of art set with a fabulous diamond (or a lot of them) is the perfect accessory for every woman, every day.

And when we discovered the above quote by Pinterest diva and accessories designer Kirsten Kuehn, we got very inspired.

“Sparkle brighter” doesn’t have to mean Dynasty-era excess. But we are finding a lot to love in the glittery end of the style spectrum.

So without further ado, here’s the outrageously sparkly Pinterest board we’re loving by Ms. Kuehn. So much eye candy, nothing held back.

So, what do you say? Are you in the mood to sparkle brighter? We love sparkly reception dresses, too.

Elisha Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf Married

It’s a Canadian royal wedding!

Actress Elisha Cuthbert married Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf on Saturday at St. James Catholic Church on Prince Edward Island.

A reception followed at Phaneuf’s waterfront home. Here are pictures of the couple and the venue. Pretty romantic, don’t you agree?

The bride wore a long-sleeved lace wedding dress and arrived at the church in a vintage black Camaro, a wedding gift for her groom. The bridesmaids wore pale pink.

Elisha has such a classic, feminine, fairy tale wedding style, we’d love to see her in something from our Ever Collection. Maybe the Eden & Ellery Set. Dion is a hockey player, so we’d pick the ruggedly handsome Emmet Wedding Band for him.

Cutbert and Phaneuf having been dating since 2008, and have been engaged since 2012.

Congrats to the happy couple!

We Love: Simple Wedding Rings & Simple Living

Zen. The economy. Saving time. Saving the environment. Quality over quantity. Teaching our kids to value relationships and experiences over the material things in life.

There are so many reasons why less is more. This interesting article on the topic has us thinking of ways to scale back and simplify.

On that note, here’s our list of links to make life simpler, better and more fun.

Why buy a wear-once dress? Shabby Apple is such a great resource for bridesmaids dresses they’ll love to wear again.

A cool way to sell your wedding dress, so someone else can enjoy it!

A chic braid. The best hair for a summer wedding with lots of dancing, and eco-friendlier than a headpiece.

White dresses with cutouts and sheer details for the daring summer bride. You could wear every single one of these again.

Or what about a skirt? Options for the bold bride, from ‘The Bold Bride.’

And speaking of simple, here’s how you make the classic Mai Tai, which is actually fresher and more sophisticated than we realized.

Go forth and be simple, whatever that means to you, and have a lovely weekend!

Matt Damon and wife Luciana Renew Vows

This is so sweet!

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana renewed their wedding vows at Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, in an intimate ceremony with a star-studded guest list.

“This isn’t a ‘Hollywood’ wedding,” one insider told Us Magazine. “Matt wanted it to be fun, happy, and private. He felt like Luciana deserves this, first and foremost.”

“They’ve wanted to do it for a long time,” another pal said of the couple, married since December 2005. “They had a tiny ceremony the first time, and wanted to celebrate with family and friends.”

Jimmy Kimmel officiated, while Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and Chris Hemsworth were there, dressed in white, to celebrate the happy couple.

Luciana wore a flowing, blush-colored Naeem Khan gown with a striking metallic belt straight from the runway, and their daughters Isabella, Gia and Stella wore matching Naeem Khan dresses.

What would our dream ring be for Luciana?

We think a dazzling right hand ring would be just the thing. Henna Rose, with its rose gold detail, would be so incredible with that incredible blush-colored dress.

What say you? Leave us a comment! We’d also adore it if you’d ‘Like’ us on Facebook.

Nate Berkus Engaged

Celebrity interior designer Nate Berkus is engaged! And the other lucky guy is fellow interior designer Jeremiah Brent, who we love from our guilty pleasure reality show, The Rachel Zoe project. The couple made it official atop Machu Picchu in Peru. Can you think of anything more romantic?

Congrats to the stylish and happy couple!

We really love matching Emmet Wedding Bands for Nate and Jeremiah. The hand-hammered finish gives a tactile, earthy quality to a clean, modern ring. That’s just the kind of understated contrast makes their designs so beautiful.
